Opening ceremony of GTU “Chinese bridge” Chinese Culture Camp for Indonesia students in TST launched

Students from Trishakti School of Tourism from Indonesia attended the online opening ceremony. The 15th day of the first month of the Chinese lunar calendar is a traditional Chinese festival: The Lantern Festival. The Lantern Festival symbolizes family reunion and happiness.

 

This camp is hosted by the Chinese-Foreign Language Exchange and Cooperation Center of the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China and organized by the Belt and Road International School of Guilin Tourism University. Guilin Tourism University is one of the long-standing and committed partners to the Trisakti School of Tourism, Indonesia.

The “Chinese bridge” program aims to promote the understanding of Chinese language and culture for high school and college students from all over the world, enhance friendly exchanges between Chinese and foreign students, and develop their passion for learning Chinese. The two-week summer camp offers Chinese language lessons, cultural experience activities and a variety of exchange programs for the participants. This cultural experience program organized by GTU is focusing on Chinese culture and Chinese learning experience. Courses are offered in Chinese language and culture, cultural tourism in China, reading Chinese classics, Chinese martial arts, folk music of Zhuang ethnic culture, Chinese painting and traditional handicrafts.

Professor Zhang Xianchun, dean of the Belt and Road International School of Guilin Tourism University addressed an opening speech to this special event. “The slogan of this camp is “Meet China, Feel Guangxi”. We hope that through the unique atmosphere of the traditional Chinese cultural festival, it will be easier for everyone to understand the culture contained in the Chinese language and help them to learn Chinese better in the future!”

In his opening remarks, Drs. Amrullah, M. Hum, M. Si. Par, Head of Tour and Travel Business Department, Trishakti Institute of Tourism says, “We wish you all success in your studies and that you will become cultural ambassadors of friendship between China and Indonesia!”

Ms. Tan Xuelin, Academic Secretary of BRIS in Guilin Tourism University, explained the course schedule in detail.

This is an opportunity for traditional Chinese-Indonesian cultural exchange. This is also another opportunity to write together about the traditional China-Indonesian friendship. Let Guilin Tourism University and Trisakti Institute of Tourism join hands, together we can write a new chapter for traditional friendship between China and Indonesia!
